Featured Product This Week: Kale!

Kale is a leafy green that is highly nutritious, containing high levels of vitamins, minerals, and brain-boosting phytonutrients. Kale is high in vitamins K, A and C. Vitamin K is important for heart health, blot clotting, bone health, cancer prevention and diabetes prevention. Vitamin A helps support skin health and vision. Vitamin C is important for immune health and joint health, helps to keep the body hydrated and also increases your metabolism.

HOMEMADE KALE CHIPS RECIPE

  • - 1 large bunch fresh kale

  • - 1 Tbs. organic extra virgin olive oil

  • - Himalayan pink salt

  1.  Heat oven to 300°F. Wash and dry the kale. Strip the kale leaves from their sturdy stems. Rinse the leaves under cool running water, then spin dry. Pat dry with paper towels — you want the kale to be as dry as possible in order for it to crisp.

  2. Tear the kale into chip size pieces and place onto baking sheets in a single layer. 

  3. Drizzle olive oil over kale and toss so that olive oil is evenly distributed. 

  4.  Bake until crisp, about 18-20 min. Stir the kale and rotate the baking sheet about halfway through. Sprinkle with sea salt. You can also be creative and add other spices :) Enjoy!

LOVING THE GREAT OUTDOORS - Our Story

A Land of Delight Natural Farm was birthed out of a passion – a passion for all-natural, fresh, non-GMO healthy foods, and self-sufficient growing. Drs. Eric and Jennifer Gonyon originally intended for the farm to be only for their family. They wanted their children to experience the power of seedtime and harvest and to see firsthand that food does not originate from a grocery store. Due to the interest expressed and positive response from friends and from the community, the Gonyons opened the farm up to the general public. The concept of A Land of Delight Natural Farm & Farmer’s Market became a reality.
A Land of Delight Natural Farm offers online classes regarding self-sufficiency. The Farmer's Market is open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and Curbside is available Tuesdays through Saturdays. ALOD offers locally grown, USDA organic and conventional produce, raw local honey, specialty gourmet honeys (organically infused), farm-fresh eggs, plus many other staple goods and grocery items. Come visit us and get inspired! Be sure to bring the family to see all the fun farm animals and walk through the Juicing Paradise U-Pick section.
